The BMW M3 GTR E46 was introduced in 2001, as a race car, but due to ALMS regulations, BMW had to produce road going homoglation versions of it. In the 2001 ALMS series, 10 of these street version GTR's were put on sale, each for $218,000.
The 4.0L V8 engine, which is also available in the race edition of the M3 GTR, is very similar, except that it has been modified to meet standards for such as noise regulations and emissions.

Overall Performance[]
Achievable Classes | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
The BMW M3 GTR E46 (Street) has a stock top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph) which is above average for a Class B car. The acceleration of the E46, however, is below average, and may be hard to keep up with cars that have quicker acceleration. However, it can be somewhat compensated for with its strong nitrous. The handling is very grippy and responsive. It's able to take corners at both low speeds and high speeds well, due to sufficient traction.
For Pursuit Outrun and Team Escape, the E46 can be used as a good escape vehicle. The vehicle has a nimble body, which makes it easy to go through roadblocks. Its heavy weight allows for it to smash through roadblocks and to take collisions with heavy police vehicles, such as Rhinos, easily. Because of the E46's responsive handling, it can evade Rhinos without any difficulties. However, due to its weak acceleration, it could take a while before the M3 GTR E46 recovers from the collisions.
