Overall Performance[]
Achievable Classes | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
The Mazda RX-8 (2006) has a stock top speed of 217 km/h (135 mph) which is average for many Class D cars. The acceleration is strong throughout all of its gears but a weak nitrous output. The handling is very good and responsive as it can also do high-speed cornering without losing much speed, but it will become stiff at times, but it is not likely to understeer. The performance, when compared with the '09 edition, is very similar to one another, with very minor handling differences.
For Pursuit Outrun and Team Escape the RX-8 '06 can perform well. It can go through roadblocks fairly easily and it can dodge heavy police vehicles such as rhinos well because of its responsive handling. But due to the light weight that the '06 has, the RX-8 cannot take head-on collisions with rhinos very well. However, because of its good acceleration, the RX-8 can regain lost speed back quickly.
