Originally the Shelby Cobra should have had a Chevrolet V8, but Chevrolet didn't give Carrol Shelby its V8s, because the Cobra would be the competitor of the Corvette. Ford gave then Shelby the engine he needed, because it would be the competitor of the Corvette. Originally a 260 cu in (4.3 litre) V8, later a 427 cui (7.0 litre) V8. 348 Cobras were built, 298 'normal' ones and 50 S/C versions.
The "Legend" edition was released on March 5th, 2013, as part of the World Vintage Series. The car comes pre-equipped with Gromlen race-tuned Performance Parts, 2-star Skill Mods and aftermarket parts as well as a unique "V8COBRA" License Plate.
The "White" edition was released on May 1st, 2015, and is the in-game cash variant of the 427S/C. The car is completely stock and features no pre-equipped performance parts.
Its main advantage is its high nitrous output, which does help with its acceleration. It can perform well in most races, due to its high top speed, decent acceleration, and grippy handling.
Its performance also helps it in Pursuits and Team Escapes. Its grippy handling helps it dodge Rhinos, and its nitrous output helps it to quickly regain speed after hitting one. It is averagely heavy, although it tends to get pushed by cops at times due to its relatively small size.
